PERFORMANCE

I aim to keep evolving as an athlete, a student, and a mentor. I love the process of getting better every day.

About Me

Neva (Nee-vuh)

I'm a 16-year-old discus thrower from the UK, and I'm proud to say I'm one of the top U18 athletes in the UK. I compete for Belgrave Athletics Club, Surrey, London Schools, and England, and I'm passionate about competing at the highest level, learning and giving back.

Whether training for a national final, balancing schoolwork, or coaching younger athletes, I approach everything with the same mindset: consistency, focus, and the drive to improve. Athletics has shaped who I am—it has taught me to handle pressure, stay patient through setbacks, and keep chasing progress.

Personal Best: 37.07m

Athletic Club: Belgrave

Major medals: U18 Bronze, 2025 UK Nationals

England representation: First vest, 2024

"I fell in love with the discus because it demands power, precision, and patience. That challenge is what keeps me coming back."

More than just distances

A story of everything behind the scenes: the competitions, the technical sessions, the mindset shifts — all building toward something bigger than metres alone.

“Winning medals is great, but I’m more focused on getting the most out of myself. That’s the real victory.”

My Values

Athletics has taught me resilience, commitment, and the importance of growth, in and out of the circle. I approach every challenge with determination, whether I’m training for my next big throw, tackling exams, or mentoring younger athletes. I’m excited for what’s ahead and eager to keep pushing my limits.

I'm excited about the opportunities ahead—to compete, learn, and keep evolving as an athlete, a student, and a person.

Commitment: I show up daily, ready to work hard and give my best.

Growth: Every challenge is an opportunity to improve, learn, and push my limits.

Resilience: Setbacks are part of the journey — I face them head-on and come back stronger.

Community: I believe in lifting others and being part of something bigger than myself.

"The win is coming, don't let the when worry you!"

MY ACADEMICS

Balancing training and competition schedules with school has taught me the value of time management, resilience, and focus.

I take pride in my academic performance, and I believe that learning is just as important as athletic growth.

I constantly challenge myself to bring the same energy and curiosity to the classroom.

Academic interests: I have a particular interest in the medical field.

My Community

For the past five years, I have volunteered on Sunday mornings at Wimbledon Athletics Club, where I coach and mentor young athletes aged 7 to 13.

These sessions are the highlight my week — I love helping kids discover the fun of athletics, build confidence, and improve their skills. Giving back to the sport that has given me so much is something I value deeply, and it has made me a stronger, more patient, and more compassionate person.

“Neva has been our longest-standing and most regular athlete-volunteer at our Sunday sessions, which are for foundation athletes. Our younger athletes love being coached by Neva as they feel inspired by someone who was once part of the group and who has gone on to become a very successful athlete. She has developed into a really good coach, communicating well, delivering clear and constructive feedback while keeping her sessions fun. Neva is a pleasure to work with and is a great team player.”

“I love helping young athletes build confidence. If they leave feeling a little stronger than when they arrived, that’s a win.”
